DECODING DYSLEXIA – Theme for 2021 aims to inspire young people across Canada to be proud that they are #PoweredByDyslexia as well as to provide a platform for young voices to be heard. Helping to empower these voices will allow those with Dyslexia to learn how to self-advocate for their educational needs. For many kids struggling with Dyslexia, the teacher’s red pen is a constant reminder of the lack of awareness and support needed for them to learn to read, write and spell with their peers and be successful in school and in life. In recognition of International Dyslexia Awareness Month, Dyslexia Canada is asking cites/communities across Canada to light up their available buildings in red for one day. For at least one day during the week of October 20th to bring awareness and shine a light on the kids in our classrooms who need our help.
