The AYR Motor Centre will be offering the following courses this spring.
Bronze Medallion/Cross – The Bronze Medallion award teaches and understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education: judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness.
The Bronze Cross award is designated for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training, including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. Prerequisite: Bronze Medallion
These courses include Emergency First Aid with CPR-B
Required age is 13 and older
Course dates and times
Sunday April 2 3pm-8pm, Sunday April 9th 3pm-8pm, Sunday April 23rd 3pm-8pm Friday April 28th 9am-12pm, Sunday April 30th 3pm-8pm, Sunday May 7th 3pm-8pm. Exam date is Sunday May 14th 3-6pm.
Cost: $250.00 for an individual course or $400.00 for Medallion and Cross combined
Bronze Recert: Sunday May 14th 3-6pm. Cost is $50.00
National Lifeguard Service
Recognized as the standard measure of lifeguard performance in Canada. NLS education is designed to develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment, and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard. This course is combined with Workplace Standard First Aid and CPR-C. Prerequisite is 16 years old, Bronze Cross (need not be current), and a current Workplace Standard First Aid Certification before the examination.

Cost – $350.00
NLS Recert – Sunday June 4th 3-6pm at a cost of $70.00
